"Yo Yo Tango" - HELD OVER THROUGH MAY 2 Chrissy Dolan Terrasi
March 1 - May 2, 2013

Born in 1950, American artist Chrissy Dolan Terrasi has spent a majority of her life living and creating in France. After attending The Maryland Art Institute and Corcoran College of Art, she was invited to the prestigious Ecole des Beaux Arts where her focus was life drawing in the same classroom Paul Cezanne instructed. Subsequent to Aix en Provence, Dolan Terrasi moved to Paris where she fine tuned her draftsmanship at Musée Rodin's sculpture garden serving as source material in the years to come. While early influences ranged from Francis Bacon to Antoni Tápies, Dolan Terrasi cites indigenous cultures as the primary latter inspiration after having spent much time in Africa, South America and South East Asia. "Yo Yo Tango" was born from her love of the cello having played a life-long hobby of the artist. In specific, American cellist and virtuoso Yo Yo Ma's album entitled "Soul of the Tango: The Music of Astor Piazzolla" serves as the fused namesake of the exhibition. Dolan Terrasi now lives between Nice, France and the Untied States. "Yo Yo Tango" is the artist's premier exhibition in Mexico. In addition to both public and private institutions, her work was included in the permanent collection former President Gerald and Betty Ford, later bequeathed to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Chrissy belonged to the eponymous Galerie Vecchio stable in Cannes, France for many years where she exhibited alongside the late Abstractionist James Coignard. Successively, Galería Skot Foreman has represented the artist over the past 20 years in the United States and abroad.

Next reception is Friday April 5th 5-8pm. The exhibition in open daily 11-6pm and is held over through May 2, 2013. ###
