Hand-signed, dated and titled "Condo 12/93 Figure Face Up" verso Adopting the style, technique and methods of a cross between Picasso-esque Cubism and a Looney Tune cartoon, Condo synthesizes these motifs to create, as he puts it, "composites of various psychological states painted in different ways." The portrait above, while fantastical evokes complex and precarious mental states "reflecting the madness of everyday life." Condo's paintings and sculptures create a singular view -- dystopic, humourous, empathetic and critical of our post-humanist age.
